Pratha Wraps

Assalamualaykum,,

Hrmm...  sekali sekala tukar selera sedap jugak, asyik-asyik makan nasi saja ... (tapi rasanya selalu jugak tukar seleara ni). Sebelum balik kerja, singgah dulu di dapur-dapur orang famous ... my frequent visits will be to Cik Mat Gebu,  Diana's Sky Blue Kitchen (Love the photos there), MamaFami's ... to name a few. Bila singah-singgah kat dapur orangni, memberikan sedikit inspirasi untuk memasak.

On one fine evening, I happened to drop by at Diana's whom talked about this Pratha Wrap. It seems that (from her blog), she took the idea from Cik Mat Gebu, I was definitely attracted to it. It looks deliciously yummy. Here goes my version:

Ingredients:
3 ready made pratha (bought from hypermarket)
3 slices of Pacific Fish Fillet (bought from the hypermarket)
Garnishing: Slices tomatoes, salads, pickels, olive
Sauces: Vegetarian mayo (ini je pun yang ada kat rumah sebab dear Sabrina is allergy to eggs) and thousand islands

How I made it:
Deep fried the fish fillet. Sliced it horizontally.
Reheat the pratha (I reheat it on the pan over the stove)

Wrapping process -
Place the salad, sliced fillet, tomato, pickles and olives. Spread the sauces. Wrap.
I used the toothpick to hold the wrap. Make sure to let your family know about this to avoid unwanted circumstances.

That's all. Easy. Delicious. Fast to prepare.

Wallahua'lam.

Kebab

Good morning!!!! Let's make a different today. (At least for my kitchen). Done with cereals, nasi lemak, lempeng or mee goreng, lets have something different this morning. Considering the kids only had something light for their dinner last nite, I resort to making an instant kebab!! Mmmm .... Amacam? Terliur tak? Well, very easy to prepare. I used all the instant ingredients. Onion - diced Ayamas Chicken burger - suitable for grilling, defrost and sliced (do not take too long to defrost it as it is difficult to slice it later) Olive - sliced Tomato - diced Olive oil Oppss... don't forget the bread - I use Gardenia's rolls. 1. Heat the pan with olive oil. 2. Fry the sliced chicken burger till cooked. 3. Add onion, tomato and olive. 4. Add seasonings - salt & pepper. 5. Cut the roll in the center vertically, but do not separate it. Apply butter onto it. 4. Toast it over the burning stove for a while (to replace charcoal burn). 5. Stuffed the chicken burger. 6. Garnish wit...

Nasi goreng ringkas

Assalamualaykum Rushing from office to our home. Need a quick fix for the dinner?  Fried rice is the simple answer. A scenario. You came home late. Rushing from the office and decided not to cook.  Both the husband and you had not had a hefty meal for lunch earlier. Therefore you opted to eat out at a Malay restaurant. What would you order? Fried rice? Well, why not make it yourself?  Use all the available ingredients and kitchen tools. How I made mine? The rice: Entering the house, I placed my things near the counter. I quickly walked to the kitchen. 1 cup of rice is sufficient for the two of us. Washed and rinsed it, I cooked it in a Noxxa pressure cooker for 7 minutes. At times, I cooked using the Tupperware rice cooker (cooked in the microwave) for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, I get the ingredients ready for my fried rice. 1 onion 3 garlics 1 handful of anchovies 2 red chillies Throw everything into the blender and blend it fin...

Asam Pedas Keladi

'Asam Pedas Keladi' or 'Spicy & Sour Yam Soup' is one of our favourite. Atikah likes it most. It's a kind of traditional dish and can be categorized as vegetables. We can eat both it's rhizome and it's stalk. The rhizome is delicious to be made into 'pengat' - a dessert which consist of coconut milk and sugar as the sauce and the rhizome that has been boiled. Or you can also have a fritter out of the rhizome. For the stalk, we can turn it into a spicy soup. But! be careful with the resin. It might ruin your clothes if in contact. A search in the internet found me with this interesting health facts about yam. Yams provide a very good source of potassium and fiber. They also offer a good source of vitamins B1, B6 and C. In addition, yams are a good source of manganese and carbohydrates. They contain large amounts of B6, which required by the liver, and also contain folic acid and other B vitamins which help to detoxify excess estrogen. This action ...
