Broccoli soup

Assalamualaikum... Ini Broccoli soup versi 'M'. Apa versi 'M' tu? Versi orang Malas dan nak cepat. Anyway, Alhamdulillah ... it fulfills our appetite needs for dinner. The soup itself is low in carbohydrate, but when you had it with bread, rolls or alike, the carbohydrate appears. Its your choice, how you want to have it. For my daughter, she simply slurped it down just like that. Pretty healthy ;-) My Broccoli Soup Broccoli - washed and cut. grilled and charred slightly in olive oil . Transfer it to a blender, add some plain water or milk, blend it till smooth. In a saucepan, I melt about 1 tablespoon of butter . Add 1 tablespoon of multipurpose flour . Stir quickly to make a roux.  Add heavy cream or whipping cream or simply milk. Stir to dissolve the roux (use whisk). Add the blended creamy broccoli. Add salt and pepper to taste. Let it boil and thicken to your liking. Ready to eat..... Alhamdulillah. Fast and easy. Cl...

Kicap..o..kicap

Assalamualaykum, Kicap ... o ... kicap. Maaf, ini bukan iklan kicap. Tapi masakan hari ni tiba-tiba terlalu berkicap. But, this is what my husband love the most. Anything berkicap is always his favourite. As the wife, we cook as what he likes. Jadi tema hari ni KICAP. Top: Telur masak kicap Bottom: Kacang panjang goreng kicap. Ini aje lah yang sempat aku masak untuk juadah Jumaat. Maklum la ... sampai rumah hampir pukul 1.00 tengahari, aku terus meluru ke dapur dan memulakan tugasa seperti yang dirancangkan (while driving, I have everything planned in my head: what to cook; what needs to be done first; and how will the job sequence be).  Mula-mula, masak nasi. Then goreng telur. Ka...

Looking around your house could be another option. The appetizing fresh chive fried with shrimps I recently went around the house, into my Herbs Garden  and found some chives ready to be harvested. Floating Spinach

Salam all, Sunday is a day when I would like to try out new recipe or new ideas for cooking. I am trying this one today. I watched the program called "5 Rencah 5 Rasa" on Astro yesterday and was trying hard to memorize the recipe to try it out. And here it is, today, I tried it. It's crunchy and very filling. You can just eat it just like that or dip into any sauce of your like. The name given by the chef was something else but I changed it to "Floating Spinach" as it floats when you fry it. Besides spinach, you can fry any other vege using the same batter. I tried with mushroom and it was yummy too. Getting the kids to eat vege is not an easy task. By doing this, they enjoyed it. This is not my first time doing this vege coated recipe, however, my earlier trials was just using the simply bought of the shelfs tempura flour. This time, with the homemade batter, I guarantee you the taste that will make you want more. A quick search on the interne t found me with t...
