Chicken Pot Pie

Assalamualaikum Care for a western dinner tonight? We had Chicken Pot Pie for dinner. This is not my first attempt. Made it several time before. I used the store-bought pastry, normally sold at the bakery. First what we need to make is the filling. You can have a variety of filling to your liking. My filling had chicken (as it is called chicken pie), celery, mushroom (diced), carrot (diced), onion (diced), fresh milk, multipurpose flour, salt and pepper. First, heat the cooking pot on stove. Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil or olive oil or butter. Fry the onion till tender. Add chicken (I used the breast, cut into small pieces). Then add in carrot, mushroom, celery. Let it cook for a while, Second, add some water and fresh milk to tender the ingredients.  Third, prepare the flour - water mixture. This will thicken the gravy. Once cooked. Ad the flour-water mixture. Keep stirring. Turn off the heat. Preheat the oven to 180 celcius. Ladle int...

My Sardine Roll

Salam all, Earlier this Ramadhan, I do not think that 'kuih-muih' (delicacies) is required for iftar. However, off late, I crave to have some delicacies during iftar. I really had tough time to think of what delicacies to prepare. My two attempt to buy it from a restaurant ended up with me alone munching the kuih-muih to avoid wastage. And now, I resort to preparing the kuih muih on my own. The type of kuih muih will depend on how much time I have (which normally is not much). The one that I would like to share took only about 15 minutes preparation time and less than 10 minutes cooking time. If you have the filling ready, the preparation time is reduced to just 5 minutes. Even Sabrina can do the rolling on her own. Here goes my Sardine Roll. My Ingredients: For the Fillings 1 potato - peeled, diced small 1 onion - diced small 1 can of Sardine (mind me, mine is h0memade, by my beloved mother) Salt to taste Chilli paste (1/2 teaspoon - optional) 1 tablespoon cooking oil Method 1...

French beans Pizza

Salam all, Yiihhaaa .... my third blog update in a row!!! Not bad huh for someone who did not regularly update her blog. And now it's Pizza time. I made it last week, Tuesday (yes, I remembered the day very well because it was ayah's badminton day). The kids refuse to eat rice, they just had 'goreng pisang' and some 'kuih muih' after returning from school and said that they were full and do not want to eat anymore. Ayah, as usual will not eat rice on his badminton's night. Therefore, at 8pm, I started to prepare the dough and two hours later, the pizza is already in the oven. Hmmm .... fresh homemade pizza! Fresh from the oven!!! Wonderfully delicious!!! You can pick your own toppings!!! For me, why french beans? Let's read what I found about french beans from here : Consumption of French Beans helps in toning spleen and kidneys Increasing haemoglobin count and provides energy to the body without adding calories. alleviating swelling stomach ,bad appeti...

Creamy Chicken Pie

Salam all, This is a pre-Ramadhan cooking. Just trying out few new recipes, to check whether my kids like it or not. If they do, I can definitely make it again during Ramadhan. In other word I am trying to create varieties to my cooking, especially during Ramadhan. My chicken pie normally uses the pie crust recipe with chicken curry and vege as filling. But last Sunday, I tried something different. Actually, I got the recipe from a recipe book sent to me from Naturel cooking oil, as a birthday gift. They'll send me something every year, without fail. Wonder how I got it? Well, years ago I submitted some competition conducted by Naturel but fail to win any prizes. Based on that address and some personal info that they got from the application, every year, they will send me something as a birthday wish, and this year is the recipe book -- Ok jugak kan ..... The filling's recipe (as modified from the book): 2 inches carrot, cut into cubes 3-5 french beans, sliced to 1cm 1 onion...

I've wanted to bake a pie for quite sometime. I've collected several recipes but never have the strength to try it. After collecting so may recipes, the next step was to buy a pie baking tray ( tak payah pun tak pe .... kalau rajin ). So here it is .... prepared at 9.30pm. Completed the baking process at almost 12 o'clock midnight. Thanks to Mama Fami for the recipe (who took it from Reens).
